Two Hearts Beat As One

Taken on a bright morning after a fresh fall of snow. Saltwell Park, Gateshead, UK

Ice

Seen while out for a walk on a cold morning

Penarth Pier

Shadow of railings, processed in Lightroom, B&W conversion in Silver Efex Pro

Time

Fishy Sage

This is the Sage Music Centre in Gateshead, taken with a Samyang 8mm f/2.8 fisheye lens on my Fujifilm X-E1. The lens is manual focus and doesn't report the manually set aperture to the camera, which is why the EXIF data isn't strictly accurate. This version has had a small piece of the Tyne Bridge removed using Photoshop, general adjustments with Lightroom, and a very slight vignette added with Perfect Effects.

Om's head

Inspired by re-reading Terry Pratchett's "Small Gods"!

Reds through the rainbow

Express Service

Nice bit of motion blur

My Preciousssss

Taken in a light tent, Canon EOS 30D, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Gollum

Gollum is startled by a photographer

Wine

Early test shot with my new Pentax Q

Solitude

St Teilo's Church

A restored building at St Fagans. It's had the pre-reformation wall paintings recreated.

Flares are back in fashion

Guardian

Lion guarding a doorway, given a sepia tint

Tyne River God

Sculpture at Newcastle upon Tyne Civic Centre. Normally has water running down it, but this was caught when the fountain was turned off.

Geode

Teasel

Origin

Part of a sculpture trail in Saltwell Park, Gateshead

Greyfriars Bobby

Shadows

Shadow of a pedestrian barrier, design based on the Newcastle coat of arms

Crystal Tigger

Rusty Ring

On the north pier at the mouth of the Tyne

Angel of the North

Taking Flight

Part of a sculpture at Sunderland Marina

Elegance

Scaffolders at work prior to the demolition of the 1960s Central Library, Newcastle upon Tyne

Castell Coch

Shadows of the Future

Construction of the 21st century Newcastle City Library

Seed Pod

Misty Morning

The Tyne Bridge looming out of the mist. A personal favourite.

Tynemouth Priory

Using the arch as a natural frame was planned, the bird was un unexpected bonus.

Baltic Flour Mills

Whitley Bay

Blossom

Reflected Swans

Humboldt Penguin

A close view at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Colwyn Bay

Gull

Harris's Hawk

At the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Colwyn Bay

Heads up

Round Bridge

Northumbria University Bridge

Weathered

Looks like he's been standing there a little too long.

Burnt Out

An early experiment with the 50mm lens at maximum aperture. Over exposed, but there's something about the people's legs that gives it a strange feeling that I like. I'm odd like that :-)

Take us to your leader!

What? They're not visiting aliens?

Fancy a drink?

Detail of the drinking fountain in the Bigg Market, Newcastle. I hadn't previously noticed how fierce the lions looked - enough to put people off drinking the water and send them into the nearest pub... Taken with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens, minimal processing done in Lightroom 1.2. Best viewed large.

The Dene

Snowing in the Dene

Claw 2

Cathedral Railings in sepia

I think I like it...

Bottles

DoF fun

Lovely summer's day

Playing with the Sigma 10-20mm lens again. A brighter day might have been better, but never mind....

Lions Revisited

A little bit of adjustment later....

Mumbles Lifeboat Station
