Newcastle Town Walls - cropped version
Growing on the wall around St John's Church, Newcastle
A closer crop and a slightly different conversion. Things like this make me want a true macro lens...

It occurred to me that I had no DR plan for making espresso. So I got a new machine to be the primary, and I've put the old one in a cupboard to be the emergency stand-by espresso maker.

Now this is why I like having a full-frame sensor. Cropped down from the previous image in my photostream to show off the detail. Canon 5D Mk II with the Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens, 1/500sec at f/5. Minimal tweaking in Lightroom. Now the water's been turned off, it's possible to really appreciate the detail in this sculpture without getting yourself or your camera soaked.
Close-up view of the stone surface at All Saints offices, Newcastle
Nice detail in the stonework.
Beautiful heraldic details on a building just off the Quayside.
A little bit of adjustment later....

Green and Red
Backlit to show off the fine structure of the geode, with a little flash in front to bring out the colour. Taken in the light tent using the Canon 100mm macro wide open to lose the background.

Getting close with the E-P1 and the long end of the 14-42mm lens.
While I was waiting for the bus, I took this shot of raindrops on leaves.
Cropped right down to show the detail. I'm quite pleased with the result...
